And the Home of the... SIOUX!

Greg and I went to Colorado Springs this weekend for one of our favorite activities:
Cheering on University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey!
Two games, one win, one great weekend!!

Colorado Springs World Arena, final Game score: Sioux win 6-0!

We actually stayed at the same hotel as the players! Even though they are college students, I was still a little starstruck, asking Greg: What if I get to meet Ben Blood? What about Genoway and Trupp?! LOL

Greg before they scored in the first game, where they lost 2-4.

Greg after they scored. LOL

Ree's Favorite Moments from UND vs. CC:

1. All the Sioux fans!! There was a lot of Green there representing!

2. Gregoire's last goal in Game 1

3. PeeWee Hockey during the break!! Those little ones were ADORABLE.

4. Two little Colorado College fans, sitting behind us with their parents; I got a kick out of how much they got into the game.

4a. Towards the end of the 6-0 game (UND winning), one of the little boys said to his dad: "All we need is a Touchdown with the extra point and we can beat them, huh dad?!" LOL Soooo cute!!

4b. At one point, both boys were so into the excitment of the game, all the UND fans were chanting "Lets Go Sioux!" and they both joined in.... even though they were wearing yellow... LOL .

4c. Their dad was pretty lighthearted and understanding about it, trying to explain that, "yes, if this were football, then a touchdown would be great right now" and "you know boys, we're the TIGERS... not the SIOUX..." Awesome.

Aslyn's Bridal Shower

Aslyn is getting married in June!!
Tannie and I hosted her Bridal Shower on the 22nd and, I have to say, we did a pretty good job! Tanith is an amazing decorator with AWESOME ideas:

Greg and I

My Love

-He came all the way from North Dakota to find me. (of course he may say it was for the skiing close by in Durango, but don't let him fool you.)

-Mr. T brought us together. (at a work Christmas party including our two offices, we had a White Elephant gift exchange and he brought a Mr. T voice-keychain. I stole it from someone else because I wanted it so bad. I didn't even know it was his gift. Turns out, he'd promised himself that if I ended up with his gift, he would ask me out. HA! I win!!)

-Mountains are our first world. (Our first date was hiking above Durango. We haven't stopped since.)

-We balance each other out when hiking. (I kick his butt on the ascent and whine like a baby when my knees are jello coming down the mountain.... He waits for me at the bottom.)

-Food is our second world. (Before we even started dating, I told him I ate Taco Bell twice a week and had KFC Mondays as part of my regular schedule. He told me he loved me. ) He's also a Pepsi man... need I say more. Sigh, I love this man!

-Hockey is our third world. (I've always been a big Redwings fan, but he introduced me to college hockey and the ND Fighting Sioux. I'm now an ADDICT.)

-I put him on pedestal. (I actually wait until after 8:00pm to eat dinner, waiting for him to finish his daily run. ME, wait past 5 for food. Yeah, this is TRUE LOVE)

-He put me on a REALLY high pedestal. 13,000 ft to be exact. (He proposed to me on top of Engineer Mountain on July 12, 2008. He made me work for it)

-It was meant to be, the stars were aligned. (My Horoscope for July 12 said, "Today is a good day to get engaged or married. I'm not lying!! We found out later when my mom called)

-We are meant to get married in Fort Lewis Chapel on October 18th, 2008. (When I called to check the Chapel schedule, the 18th was double-booked with 2 weddings... I was super sad and SUPER stressed having a date but no place to get married in 'our' Durango like we'd planned. THEN, I called back 20 minutes later to ask about the 17th.....the coordinator told me that the 18th was now clear... from BOTH bookings!!! yeah.... I know.)

-I hope everyone is as excited as I am! To be honest, I never thought I could be so excited and so perfectly ready (more than ready) to get married to someone. Greg makes me feel loved, respected, content, comfortable, warm, happy and high on life. I am SO ready to begin our life together. (if you haven't noticed from the fact that we're planning a wedding in 3 months!)

-Love you all and wish you the same happiness that I have found!- Re

I'm Here!

Ok, so I'm a bit of a perfectionist and really didn't want to post my blog until I had everything 'ready' which is SOOO me! LOL
A little background on that:
1. I didn't want to start kindergarten because I didn't know how to read yet.
2. I didn't want to start gymnastics because I didn't know how to do a cartwheel yet.
3. I didn't want to start my blog until I had everything posted.

Um Yeah... I'm trying to break loose into the spirit of the Blog and post as life happens....
New Concept! :P I did, however, spend HOURS on creating my own custom banner.. :)
Keep Reading and help me stick to my goal of posting at least once every two weeks. (There will be alot in the beginning!
Loves!!!
