I walked around the corner and caught them in this tender embrace...
Should I be worried?

Introducing Kona!
Now is the moment everyone has been waiting for: Meet KONA, our new Puppy-kid!
We adopted Kona-Bird from the Farmington Animal Shelter on April 27th.
Greg was checking out their website and called to say that we needed to get down there to check out a few dogs. When he saw Kona, it was love at first sight.
Greg was actually the one who named her and really put a lot of thought into it. At the time, we just got back from Hawaii and Greg looked at a few Hawaiian names on a baby-naming website. :) He came across 'Kona' and knew it was PERFECT for the new pup.
Kona means "Lady" and they actually called her "Lady-Bird" in the Pound. Plus, she is the color of Kona Coffee AND when she whines, she actually sounds like a bird chirping!
We're not quite sure what kind of a dog she is, but she is definitely some sort of hound mix.
What we know about our Little Kona-Bird:
- She is about 8 months old, which makes her birthday sometime in November.
- She is definitely a puppy! {Loves to chew, play, pee, and get into mischeif}
- She loves real leather Kenneth Cole SHOES. {you really don't want to know}
- She loves taking pictures and wants to be right in front of the camera.
- She is such a GREAT walker! She just likes to hang out by mom's side and see the sights.
- She has the cutest little puppy-wrinkles around her mouth.
- She has BIG feet and will probably grow to be a little taller than Timber.
- She is a little nervous around new people and hides behind mom's legs, but she LOVES dogs!
- She winks and blinks when she looks at you. SO CUTE!
- She has two half-socks on the tips of her back paws, all black nails on her front paws except for ONE clear/white nail on her right front paw.
- She has five little white hairs right in the middle of her forehead.
- She is a 'bad-girl' and, like her brother, has a TATOO on her belly. {showing that she is spayed}
Here's an Extra tip for new puppy owners:
PLEASE don't give up on your puppy if they keep getting into mischeif and destroying things! Puppies have so much ENERGY, are teething, and get bored EASILY. If you don't have the time to watch them all the time, divert their attention and energies, and keep them occupied, I have three words for you.
DOGGIE DAY CARE.
I know, I know, it sounds like I'm overspoiling my dogs and I'm a prima-donna Puppy mommy, but REALLY; Doggie Day Care saved my house AND my dogs lives!
They get to play all day with other dogs, wear themselves out, and when they come home, they are pleasant, happy, non-destructive little cuties. WORTH IT WORTH IT WORTH IT!
Melissa and Bob at CANINE CASTLE have been my saving grace and I LOVE them for keeping us a Happy family!

Timber's Best Friend
I know I already posted about Timber today,
but I took another picture and I just really couldn't pass it up:
Timber Tuesday 2
Last Week, Timber met up with two friends; one old, one new, both brand-new- "Besties."
{Bestie #1} My Best Friend Leah came into town on her moving-journey to D.C.
Her boyfriend just accepted a job at the White House in their IT Department.
-Yep, I said White House. Go Tim!-
We had an awesome few days of talking, texas tacos and bowling, woot! :P
Apparently, 'Tims' are smitten by her charms and Tim-ber fell in love at first site.
Look at his Smile!
{Bestie #2} Last Christmas, I gave Greg a gag-gift-personal-joke Sock Monkey in his Stocking.
Up until last week, the poor little monkey sat in a dark closet gathering dust.
I found it hiding under a scarf and dangled it out to Timber as a new toy.
Needless to say, it took Timbo only one day to learn,
"Where's your monkey-toy? Go get your monkey-toy!"
He Loves it!
Hope your Timber Tuesday is Terrific!!
P.S. Here's a funny bonus for you.... spell check picked Timbo and prompted me to change it to Bimbo!
Awesome. :)
Awesome. :)

Timber Tuesday
Timby-Timbo and G-Mac |
Little T is my little Timber puppy. Yes, I still call him my puppy even though he is two years old and 45 lbs! His nicknames include, Timby, Timbo, Timbaline, Turdbucket, Bucket and Beaver-dog. :) I really should have kept his older brother Creek in mind when I named him.
Creek was found by, well.. a Creek... and really loved water ever since.
So... based on that one fact along, why in the world did I name our new pup Timber?! I basically gave him permission to show his love of wood by chewing everything made of wood that was in sight: Greg's favorite chair, wooden blinds and our WINDOW SILLS, to name a few!
I am truly amazed that Greg let me keep Timber past the first 8 months alone!
Luckily, he grew out of his chew-phase and now he's my best little buddy. :)
He thinks he's a lap dog and loves to cuddle, comes to let me hug and kiss on him when I sing-song his name, yodels at us when we are not paying attention, loves all dogs and all people, and despite being a little needy and whiny (like his mom, lol) is an all-around happy guy.
He makes me laugh, makes me smile, makes me feel needed, and he's a great listener.
Tuesdays, therefore, are dedicated to my Timber-boy and his weird/sweet little quirks.
I love my Pup!
